In a classic episode of the popular series, Dai Jones, Llanilar visits Dai and Gwen Davies on Gwarffynnon Farm near Lampeter, where he admires their prize-winning herd of dairy cattle. Dairy cows are the mainstay of the farm and Dai Davies takes care to grow the very best grass and milk his herd three times a day. Gwarffynnon is a family farm, and the couple's three children take a great interest in the work. They also enjoy competing in eisteddfodau and we'll hear Hedydd playing the harp, Elliw singing a song and Aaron reciting a poem.
An opportunity to get better aquainted with Rhodri Morgan, Wales's First Minister through conversation and film. He discusses his upbringing in Radyr, the growth of the Welsh language and the Welsh identity in Cardiff, and the politicians who shaped his own political views. In 1958 he joined his older brother Prys at Oxford University and watching a film clip of Prys during that time proves an emotional experience for Rhodri. While viewing television archive from the 1960s associated with two of his hobbies, he talks of the pleasure and satisfaction he gets from hill walking and wood carving.
